The main objective of the ILIO Summer School is to provide final-year undergraduate, Master's, and PhD students in the Humanities—particularly in Italian Studies—with the necessary skills to conduct research in Italian literature from an international perspective and to work in the field of teaching Italian language and literature abroad or to foreign students enrolled in international programs in Italy.

In particular, the Summer School will address key topics such as the reception of contemporary Italian literature abroad; the comparison between the internal and external canon of Italian literature, different approaches to teaching Italian literature in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts; the translation of modern and contemporary literary texts; the dynamics of the publishing system that promotes Italian literature internationally; the intersections between literature and other media.
