Research

A multidisciplinary research initiative exploring past and present migration dynamics and the role of aid and education in addressing today’s EU challenges.

The EUMCHA project aims to establish an innovative, multidisciplinary research group focused on “The European Union and Migration Challenges: The Role of Aid and Education, Past and Present.” During the first two years, group members will engage in discussions and exchange information on their respective research.

By comparing past and present migratory experiences and adopting a multidisciplinary approach that integrates economic, political, and sociological insights from distinguished scholars, the project seeks to shed light on the complex nature of migratory movements. It also aims to use historical perspectives to better understand contemporary challenges faced by the European Union.

This objective will be pursued through a variety of activities, including teaching, seminars, study visits, two international workshops, a final conference, and collaboration with CeSIPE.
