This page includes former Bachelor and Master students who did an internship in the Deep Carbon Lab and/or co-operated with the lab members.
Former Bachelor student, currently Master student at BiGeA, University of Bologna
Sara did a research internship on apatite and carbonate cathodoluminescent analysis. Her work was aimed at constraining mineral zonation patterns related to the formation or infiltration of reduced fluids in metamorphic rocks.
Former Bachelor student, currently Master student at BiGeA, University of Bologna
Giulia did a research internship on AI-based image analysis of opaque minerals in partially serpentinized peridotites. In particular, tested the performances of image analysis-based quantifications of magnetite modal proportions in comparison with magnetic hysteresis measurements.
Former Bachelor student, currently Master student at BiGeA, University of Bologna
Beatrice did a research internship on standardization of carbonate samples for bulk d13C analysis. Her work helped us to obtain an internal set of carbonate standards for isotope analyses on our Picarro G2201-i + AutomateFX system.
Master student at BiGeA, University of Bologna
Enrico did a research internship on the petrographic characterization of metabasic rocks using optical and electronic microscopy. In particular, he studied the relationship between carbonatic rocks and graphite within the metabasites of the Mount Belvidere complex in the northern Appalachian mountains (Vermont, USA).
Master student at BiGeA, University of Bologna
Eleonora did a research internship on the petrographic characterization of carbonatic rocks from the Mount Belvidere complex, northern Appalachian mountains (Vermont, USA), through optical microscopy and cathodoluminescence analyses. She also performed carbon isotopic analyses on such rock samples, using our Picarro G2201-i CRDS analyzer and the associate AutoMate Prep.
