Bio:

Rosario Perricone teaches Cultural Anthropology at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and is a subject expert in History of Popular Traditions at the University of Palermo, where he was an adjunct professor from 2002 to 2010 at the Faculty of Humanities, degree course in BeniDea. He is also Director of the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum in Palermo and of the Morgana Festival. Review of traditional theatre practices; President and scientific coordinator of the Association for the Preservation of Popular Traditions and Secretary General of the Folkstudio Association. Since 1993 he has carried out numerous field surveys with audio-visual means, focusing on the investigation of the life cycle, festive cycles and ritual performances in the Sicilian folk tradition and has edited several volumes and documentaries on folk traditions.

Matteo Casari is Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, where he teaches Theatres in Asia (Master's Degree in Music and Theatre) and Performing Cultures of Asia (DAMS). He mainly deals with Asian theatre traditions, in particular from Japan where he has conducted some field research. He is the author of various publications including monographs, editions and essays and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. He is scientific director of the journal "Anthropology and Theatre" and coordinates the interdisciplinary research group Performing robots (University of Bologna).
