First cycle of Mokichi Okada Lectures
The first initiative organized by the Chair (March-June 2021) has been a series of online lectures, which focused on the theme of colour and its various perspectives in relation to beauty. This series of events opened with one of Japan’s “living national treasure”, Osumi Yukie: a metalworking artist specialized in traditional techniques such as tankin and nunomezōgan. The closing event has been a practical demonstration of Kohrincha (a type of Ikebana) by the Master Yamate Shigeru.
