International March Climate Cafè: More-than-Human Maps for Climate Justice

Gabriele Ferri is a design researcher and Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology. He works on design, ethics, and community justice, exploring the social impact of design and promoting participatory approaches. The Climate Café are spaces for discussion that document and enhance local practices of climate adaptation and resilience, inspired by the Repair Café. Through participants' shared experiences, they map the networks of human and more-than-human actors involved in adaptation processes, making visible the interdependencies between people, ecosystems, infrastructures, and atmospheric phenomena.The talk will present experiences from Climate Café initiatives in Emilia and reflections on their potential for Design for Climate Change. It will be an opportunity to showcase initial ideas, conduct a practical demonstration, and gather feedback, exploring how participatory design can connect communities, policies, and more-than-human approaches in addressing the climate crisis.
