Grace Ballor (Bocconi University), an economic historian and scholar of European integration, will deliver the inaugural lecture of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence EUFutures, presenting her forthcoming book “Enterprise and Integration: Big Business and the Making of the European Single Market” (2026, Cambridge University Press).

The inaugural lecture of the EUFutures series will take place on 11 May 2026, from 17:00 to 18:30, in Aula Poeti, Palazzo Hercolani (Strada Maggiore 45, Bologna). The event is part of the EUFutures Lectures programme and will focus on the theme “Foundations of EU Growth.

Prof. Ballor’s lecture is the first event in the EUFutures public lecture series “EU Growth Under Stress,” which aims to reconstruct the critical junctures, crises, and socio-political dynamics that have shaped the evolution of the EU’s growth model and its institutional and political foundations.

The event is open to the public and will be held in English.
