“Entwined Fates: Rethinking Nature and Humanity in African Landscapes”

The visit of Prof. Melanie Jean Murcott, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Cape Town, continues. She will be a guest at the University of Florence from June 16 to 24, 2025, as a LUMEN Visiting Professor.

As part of the initiatives promoted within the EVE – Exchanging Visions of the Environment project, organized by the School of Political Sciences at the University of Florence in collaboration with the LUMEN project, a public seminar titled “Entwined Fates: Rethinking Nature and Humanity in African Landscapes” is scheduled for June 23, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the University of Florence.

During this evening event, Prof. Murcott will lead a reflection on the profound interconnections between humanity and nature within the context of African landscapes. The seminar is open to students, scholars, citizens, and professionals interested in new perspectives on the relationship between law, environment, and society.
