Yangon University of Economics Team

Yangon University of Economics (YUECO) was founded in 1964 and it is one of the leading universities in Myanmar. It carries out its academic programs through several learning frameworks: the regular system, the human resource development system, and online learning system. Currently, YUECO provides 6 certificate courses, 7 diploma courses, 8 Bachelor’s degree programs, 9 Master’s degree programs and 3 Doctoral degree programs, with more than 6000 students enrolled each year. Its mission contemplates the implementation of diversified, multidisciplinary, and quality courses to meet national as well as regional demands and requirements, which are designed to maximize students' employment in the field. Consequently, YUECO has recently established new graduate programs at the Centre of Excellence (Hlaing Campus) in Accounting, Public Administration, Development Studies and Population Studies. At the moment, the university is involved in the ASEAN University Network and actively participates in 29 international cooperation projects with foreign HEIs, with the aim of expanding its network of exchange programs targeted at students, faculty members, and admins. 

Nu Nu Lwin, Toolkit Local Team. Dr Nu Nu Lwin is Professor and Head of the Department of Management Studies at Yangon University of Economics. She obtained her MSc at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan in 2005 and completed her PhD in Economics at the Yangon Institute of Economics in 2006. She conducted many research works mainly on Regional Economic Integration, International Business Management, Managerial Economics, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management in Myanmar, Japan and Korea.

Mar Lar Oo, Toolkit Local Team. Ms Mar Lar Oo is head of Administration and Finance Department at Yangon University of Economics. She has obtained her PGDCS at the University of Yangon in 2004 and she is completing an MBA at Yangon University on Economics. She has been head of Branch at Dawei University until 2007 and in the Department of Higher Education until 2012. She has been Head of Division at the West Yang University until 2015 and later Head of Department at Taungoo University until 2018.

Aye Thu Htun, Toolkit Local Team. Dr Aye Thu Htu is Professor at the Department of Commerce of Yangon University of Economics. She gained her Master degree in 1997 at the Yangon Institute of Economics were she also obtained her PhD in Economics in 2007. Her Specialization is in International Business and her main research interest have been developed in some research works on Foreign Trade of Myanmar, effects of External and Internal Factors on Export Performance of Private Companies, Corporate Social Responsibility.

Tha Pye Nyo, Toolkit Local Team. Dr Tha Pye Nyo holds the position of Professor at the Yangon University of Economics, from which she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. Afterwards, she obtained her PhD from the Graduate School of Economics of the Osaka Sangyo University (Japan).
