National University of Laos Team

The National University of Laos (NUOL) is the first comprehensive or full-fledged university in the history of Lao PDR. Since its establishment in 1996, the NUOL was established by amalgamation of the existing higher education institutions, which were then operated under different ministries. It comprises of 10 institutions namely: the Pedagogical University of Vientiane, Polytechnic University, Medical Science University, Nabong College of Agriculture, Dongdok College of Forestry, Tadthong College of Irrigation, Institute of Architecture, Institute of Transportation, College of Electricity and Electronics and the Centre for Establishment of Veunkham Agro-Forestry University. Initially, the NUOL conducted the teaching and learning-based activities starting with 7 faculties, 6 Offices and one School of Foundation Studies. Currently, the NUOL comprises 13 faculties, 2 institutes, 1 central library, 3 centers, 1 hospital, 11 offices, and 1 School for Gifted and Ethnic Students.

Amkheng Phenglasy, Toolkit Local Team. Amkheng Phenglasy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language from the Faculty of Letters, National University of Laos concluded in 2007 and obtained a Master Degree in Law of International Relations at Shandong University, China in 2013.

Since 2007, he works at the International relations Office of National University of Laos covering different roles: he started as Office Administrator in the Foreign Student Administration Division, role that he covered for two years until 2009, when he became Office Administrator at the International Cooperation Division. In 2013, he held the position of Head of Unit for MOU and Student Exchange Programme and in 2016; he was promoted Deputy Head of International Cooperation Division. Currently he serves as Head of International Exchange Students Division.

Viengsavanh Vongkaserm, Toolkit Local Team.  Viengsavanh Vongkaserm works as Officer at the International Student Exchanges Division, International Relations Office of the National University of Laos since 2017. She obtained her Bachelor degree of Mathematic Applied for Economic and Business Administration, Faculty of Natural Science at National University of Laos in 2016 pursuing at the same time a High diploma of English Language at Sirimoungkhoune College from 2014 until 2017.

Souliya Mounnarath, Toolkit Local Team. Souliya Mounnarath currently works as officer for the National University of Laos. She studied in China for many years, obtaining her bachelor degree in Chinese Language and Culture in 2006 at Huaqiao University. She continued her studies at China Foreign Affairs University obtaining her Master Degree in 2011 and her PhD on 2014 in Diplomacy.

She started working as a Chinese language teacher in 2006 and form 2010 she worked as Chinese language interpreter and translator in different contexts.  From 2007 until 2018, she worked as Diplomat at the Laos Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
