Mariolina Longo is Associate Professor of Management Engineering at the Department of Management of the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on Performance measurement system, Sustainability measurement and management and Sustainability Transition. She coordinates research projects funded by the European Commission and important Italian companies.
Associate Professor of Business and Management Engineering
Matteo Mura, PhD, is Associate Professor in Management Engineering at the Department of Management of the University of Bologna, Visiting Fellow at the Center for Business Performance of the Cranfield School of Management and Teaching Associate at the Warwick Business School. He is the Director of the Centre for Sustainability and Climate Change of the Bologna Business School.
His research focuses industrial sustainability transition and sustainability performance measurement systems. He collaborates with research centers in the UK, Switzerland and Brazil, and coordinates research projects funded by the European Commission and important Italian companies.
Tenure Track Researcher
Research Fellow at the Department of Management (DiSA). Leticia has a bachelor in Environmental Engineering (Universidade de Passo Fundo, Brazil), a masters’ in Production Engineering (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) and a PhD in Environmental Planning (Griffith University, Australia).
Her research interest lies in how societies and economic activities can transition towards more sustainable and resilient states in a climate change context. Currently, she is focusing on the manufacturing industries’ low-carbon transition, seeking to understand the decarbonization and climate adaptation strategies adopted by companies and their relationship with broader socio-technical and environmental systems.
Previously, Leticia has researched food systems and the role that local food initiatives and urban food strategies can play in a sustainability transition and in increasing food systems’ capacity to cope with climate change effects.
RTD-A Researcher
Research and professional experience in the field of measuring sustainability in companies and industrial ecosystems, evaluating the life cycle of products and processes, environmental risk and decontamination of environmental matrices. Environmental engineer, she received her PhD in Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering from the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM), University of Bologna in 2017. She was Climate Kic Pioneer in 2015. She is involved in several research projects at national and international level, such as EIT Climate KIC "Flagship Reindustrialise" and the "Sustainability Measurement and Management Laboratory (SuMM Lab)". She has published academic articles in international journals and has participated in numerous conferences. She holds Business Sustainability courses and seminars on sustainability measurement and Life Cycle Assessment at the University of Bologna and the BBS.
Management PhD Candidate
Chiara Vagnini is a PhD candidate in Management at the Department of Management, University of Bologna. She is also a teaching tutor for the Business Management course. Her research focuses on the industrial decarbonization of European regions through spatial econometric models and on the impact of cognitive biases in decision-making processes related to sustainable purchasing. She holds a Master's degree in Management Engineering with honors from the University of Bologna, during which she spent a semester abroad at Technische Universität Berlin. As part of her PhD, she also completed a six-month research stay at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, collaborating with the Sustainable Business Initiative research group. She has published in Regional Studies and has other articles under review in international academic journals.
PhD Candidate in Future Earth, Climate Change and Societal Challenges
Nicolas is a researcher at the Department of Management. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics (University of Bologna), a Master's degree in Economics and Development (University of Florence), and a Global MBA in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses (Bologna Business School). He has completed study and research periods in Ecuador, Argentina, Sweden, Spain, and the United States. His research interests focus on business sustainability, network theory, and economic development.
Research Assistant
Natalia Cardenà is a research assistant at the Department of Management (DiSA) at the University of Bologna and a teaching tutor for the Sustainability Transition Management course. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business (University of Milano-Bicocca) and an MSc in Business Administration and Innovation in Healthcare (Copenhagen Business School). She has also completed study and internship periods abroad in Germany, Denmark, and Portugal. Before joining the University of Bologna, she worked as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Environment Agency in the data management team. Her main research interests focus on sustainable transition, decarbonization, and economic development.
