RItrainPlus offers a new training opportunity to bachelor and master students, PhD students and early career researchers and technicians. Through theoretical lessons and hands-on activities, the course will provide an overview of the ethical, legal and social implications in research-performing organizations and research infrastructures. The Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications in Research Infrastructures and Core Facilities (ELSI) course and the School of Innovation of the University of Trento welcome applications from both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Prospective candidates include individuals pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees.
This educational opportunity is intentionally inclusive, catering to students from diverse academic backgrounds and serving as an introductory platform to the subject matter.
The selection process for participants will be discerning, considering their academic background and demonstrated motivation. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in research from a variety of perspectives, including social, ethical, and legal perspectives. The application will give priority consideration to applicants who possess or intend to acquire relevant experience in the area of European and International Research Infrastructures and Core Facilities, such as through the preparation of a thesis or the application for a position.
The ELSI course will be taught entirely in English.
The selection will close on January 31, 2024, and the results will be communicated by end of February 2024.
A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the course, the minimum attendance requirement is 80% of lessons.
The course is part of a new training programme specifically designed for students to introduce them to the professional role of managers and operators in Research Infrastructures or Core Facilities.
Through this short course, students will be able to understand a thorough overview of the various ethical, legal, and social issues of science that may be affected by the international environment, open access, or relationship between national and international institutions, companies, and citizens.
