The activity of the RU-UNIRC will concern the synthesis and characterization of Na-HEOs with tailorable properties, together with the fabrication and electrochemical testing of cathodes. Na-HEOs will be produced through sustainable reaction pathways. Post-synthesis routine characterisation of the active cathode materials will be done by SEM/EDX, TEM/EDX, XRD, TGA, MRS. RU-UNIRC also will be performing the cathode fabrication and testing (1G and 2G material) in sodium half cells by CV, GCPL and EIS.
The role of this unit also involves the setting up the AFM system to perform the operando study of the electrodes surface in liquid and in a controlled atmosphere, activity led by Prof. Salvatore Patanè (University of Messina).
