Course structure and activities

Program

The program includes 56 hours of teaching activities, with a mandatory attendance requirement of 80%.

Successful completion awards 7 ECTS credits.

Course Structure

  • Diseases of the mare during pregnancy and postpartum – 16 hours – 2 ECTS
  • Diseases of the neonatal foal - 16 hours – 2 ECTS
  • Internal medicine of the pregnant mare and the newborn foal – 16 hours – 2 ECTS
  • Practical activities in a Perinatology Unit – 8 hours – 1 ECTS

Furthermore, students may also participate in the clinical activities of the Perinatology and Reproduction Unit of DIMEVET for an entire week at their own discretion and with prior agreement from the Clinical Tutor.

Schedule

Classes will begin on January 2026, and will conclude by June 2026.

Teaching activities will be held once a month over a weekend (Friday and Saturday), according to the following timetable: 9:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00.

For theoretical lectures, online participation will be available.
