The course aims to develop and enhance the knowledge of veterinarians in managing the perinatal period in equine species, with a particular focus on high-risk pregnancy and neonatal intensive care.
The topics covered include diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of the main diseases affecting the mare during pregnancy and the postpartum period, management of normal and dystocic parturition, diagnosis and treatment of the most common neonatal conditions and neonatal intensive care.
Thanks to the limited number of participants, the program will be tailored to the starting level of experience of the students, who may be recent graduates or more experienced practitioners. The multidisciplinary approach, ensured through the involvement of lecturers specialized in both Reproduction, Internal Medicine ans Surgery/Orthopedics, provides a comprehensive educational experience.
The course also offers the opportunity to acquire practical experience at the Perinatology and Reproduction Unit of DIMEVET, a well-established referral center in this field
