The University of Buenos Aires, funded in 1821, is the main national and international reference for teaching and research in Argentina, and is among the most important universities of Latin-America. It is divided in 13 Schools/Faculties, with more than 350.000 students, +100 undergraduate and +500 postgraduate courses, +23.000 Faculty members and 15.000 non-academic staff. The School of Humanities (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras) of the Universidad de Buenos Aires has almost 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, 23 Research Institutes, a dozen undergraduate courses and more than 50 postgraduate courses. Furthermore, although our University is usually very well positioned in international rankings (for example, between 60 and 95 in the Qs ranking in recent years), the humanistic disciplines that are taught and researched at our School are usually found in the top 50 in the world. It is worth noting that our Linguistics/Modern Literature Department is ranked 21, leading in the whole university.
For University of Buenos Aires internationalization constitutes a strategic objective and is materialized in specific modalities (agreements, mobilities, research projects, joint postgraduate programs, among others) in each of the 13 Faculties that comprise it (see this link). Specifically, the School of Humanities (Filo:UBA) has as its horizon the strengthening of Higher Education in our continent through cooperation between Latin America and the European Union, for the economic and social development of the region in general and a balanced advance and equitable relationship. In this sense, our Faculty has a long history of integrated projects with various universities around the world, as well as the development of the international and intercultural dimension with our partner countries. At the same time, it intends to promote the diversification and visibility of our academic offer abroad, as well as to participate in international projects and obtain benefits from the agreements in progress (for more information, see this link).
Currently, for example, there are researchers from our School in at least four active Staff Exchange Marie Curie projects: Spaces of Memory (link), Contested Territories (link), Plexus (link), Kantinsa (link). And 10 active Erasmus + Agreements.
