Memories from the Territory aims to facilitate communication between different people and groups.
Thanks to its origins within the university setting, it will encourage teachers to develop their skills by collaborating in a more interdisciplinary manner, i.e. by facilitating dialogue between different areas of knowledge. Above all, it will give degree students a unique field experience, enabling them to understand the experiences of the Ascoli Piceno and Arquata del Tronto communities in relation to such a traumatic event. They will also learn how to communicate this in a way that best expresses and reaches the sensitivities of all those involved and affected.
Local communities lie at the heart of the project, serving as living witnesses to these events and as custodians of memories of places that no longer exist. They are also the primary agents in shaping the evolving landscape. The Me.Te project aims to empower them as active protagonists in protecting and promoting their territory, facilitating their re-appropriation of it.
For this reason, it will be essential to collaborate both with local schools to help the very young learn more about their heritage in the broadest sense of the term and with the bodies and institutions active in the area to ensure the creation of solid relations between universities, institutions and the community.
