The Archaeology focus group will use survey methods employed in the study of ancient cities to identify the phases of abandonment and transformation of Arquata del Tronto's urban centre, and to reconstruct the settlement processes during the final period of occupation.
The participation of local communities, particularly primary and secondary school students, in workshops and public meetings during the surface reconnaissance and collection of material aims to increase direct involvement and awareness of the value of historical research.
