On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Professor Silvia Bagni, coordinator of the LUMEN project at the University of Bologna, visited the site of the agroforestry development project in the indigenous communities of “Cerrado Pantanal,” coordinated by researcher Joelson Gonçalves Pereira from the Universidade Federal do Grande Dourados (UFGD), in the Bororó village, Dourados, Brazil.

During the visit, various agroforestry interventions supporting local indigenous communities were observed firsthand, promoting sustainable agricultural practices that respect biodiversity and the territorial rights of the communities. The meeting allowed a direct exchange of knowledge among researchers, students, and local representatives, laying the foundation for a long-term collaboration.

This visit is part of the close collaboration launched in 2025 by the LUMEN project with researchers from the Universidade Federal do Grande Dourados, which recently led to the formalization of new partnerships with the Centro de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Cerrado Pantanal and the Ara Poty Research and Third Mission Project, focusing on environmental initiatives in local indigenous communities.
