Chemicals from renewable resources

We work on the synthesis of bio-based surfactants, chelating agents or bioactive compounds by using renewable building blocks, such as itaconic acid and levoglucosan, from biomass. Additionally, we valorize various agricultural waste through: thermochemical approaches (pyrolysis) for obtaining solid acid catalysts biological conversions (acidogenic fermentation) for producing volatile fatty acids (VFA).
