Introducing the PANACEA syllabus—your roadmap for teaching and learning about placebo and nocebo. It clarifies what students can expect and supports instructors in delivering a structured, evidence-based course across three learning domains: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude.
Eight theory modules (available via the PANACEA webapp) cover the historical development, mechanisms, influencing factors, clinical trials and practice, ethics, and open-label placebo.
The Skills and Attitude components foster communication, relationship-building, and professional reflection through group activities aligned with the PANACEA clinical recommendations; all supporting documents are accessible in the webapp.
Built-in assessment includes formative MCQs with instant feedback and explanations, plus summative components to evaluate mastery—while instructors can adapt methods to their context.
