The PANACEA International Summer School on Placebo and Nocebo took place in Madrid from July 15 to 19, 2024. The first day began with ice-breaking activities, followed by an overview of the educational needs in the field, a review of the basic concepts, and a historical evolution of placebo and nocebo effects. Participants were introduced to a new web app designed to enhance the learning experience. Throughout the week, sessions delved into the underlying mechanisms of these effects, their role in clinical trials, and ethical considerations. Engaging group activities and debates fostered collaboration and critical thinking. The final day concluded with reflective discussions, marking the end of an enriching week. Many thanks to all participants and organizers for making this event a success!
