This line of research investigates the role of cognitive aspects, including subjective incompetence, irrational beliefs, and metacognitions in eating disorders (ED) symptomatology and ED response to treatment.
This research axis also investigates psychosomatic syndromes in ED, including demoralization and mental pain, and the balance between functional and adaptive beliefs and dysfunctional maladaptive beliefs, utilizing the rational emotive behavior therapy paradigm of rational and irrational beliefs as a possible clinimetric index of positive functioning in ED.
