At the Histories of Digital Journalism 2022 Conference (HODJ2022), a conference exploring the intersections of history, culture, digital technology, and journalism, Alice Fubini discusses her research, which investigates two empirical case studies - Fondazione Openpolis and Fundación Ciudadana Civio – to shed light on how datafication affects hybridity dynamics between data journalism and data activism practices performed within the Italian and Spanish anti-corruption arena. Furthermore, the analysis tries to trace the complexity of the relational dynamics between journalism and activism during the digital transition within the two countries, both characterized by a polarized-pluralist model of journalism, focusing on the relationship between journalism and digital media in the fields of anti-corruption and transparency.

The conference, scheduled for 24-25 June 2022, is organized by the Department of Sociology and Communication, Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Social Communication Research Centre, Faculty of Social Sciences University of Ljubljana.
