Our research fellow Ester Sigillò presents online her recent work during the SISP Conference 2021 in the panel "Framing insecurity in the Middle East and North Africa: old trends and new challenges compared". The article examines how political conflicts influence and legitimize security measures in two countries marked by fragile rule of law and high corruption levels. The findings reveal that anticorruption campaigns functioned as tools for authoritarian regimes to consolidate power.
