The 2022 edition of the 4S Conference takes place in Cholula (Mexico), from the 7th to the 10th of December.  In her presentation, the BIT-ACT post-doc discusses the findings from her empirical research on civil society organisations (CSOs) in India which address transparency and accountability in public offices and among public officials. Using primary data gathered over a period of 22 months between January 2021 and October 2022, she will argue that there is a strong technomoral logic underscoring the design of tech platforms for the purpose of ensuring 'good governance' which CSOs in India follow. Furthermore, the affordances designed by these CSOs allow the proliferation of open data on public offices, while exhorting the public to either contribute to or to make use of such data to fulfill their own roles as citizens of a democracy.
