The BIT-ACT research team that has been investigating how civil society and social movement actors fight corruption from the grassroots using a wide range of media technologies is organising an intensive workshop at the Department of Sociology, University of Bologna, between the 12th and 14th of December 2023. The workshop serves two major purposes. Firstly, it is an occasion to present advanced findings from the project which is currently in its fifth year. These findings include insights on diverse imaginaries of corruption, democracy and technologies, outcomes of grassroots anti-corruption initiatives and struggles, and the transnational dimension of anti-corruption action, to name a few. At the same time, the workshop will host six speakers from various parts of the world, who constitute a section of the Advisory Board of the project and are well-known experts in the fields of corruption studies, social movement studies, media and communication studies and qualitative methodologies. Therefore, the event will also be an opportunity for interested scholars to learn about the frontiers in research in the above-mentioned field of academic inquiry.

As the number of seats is limited at the venue, registration is required.
