Grounded Theory has been an established methodological approach in many fields of humanities for many decades. However, its definition, validity and practical execution, continue to cause debates among scholars. In this session, Prof Mattoni will help us resolve some of the disagreements concerning the Grounded Theory Approach based on her original research on grassroots political participation and mobilisation.

What exactly is the grounded theory approach?
How can we operationalise it in practice?
What are its pros and cons?

The talk is open to everyone, including external (non-EUI) participants. We invite you to share the event with anyone who might be interested in the topic of the discussion.
