The group has a deep knowledge of the chemical and structural aspects of the biomineralisation processes of biological tissues, which it utilizes as model systems for the design and development of innovative biomaterials for the repair of the muscular-skeletal system.
In particular, our research activity is focused on the preparation and characterization of bio-functionalized nano- and micro-crystalline calcium phosphates; oriented growth of inorganic phases on functionalized matrices, inorganic-polymeric composite scaffolds for rigenerative medicine.
