FIBRE - Fostering European Integration through Bachelor Education

FIBRE aims to develop high-quality didactic materials for the Una Europa Joint Bachelor in European Studies (BAES), bringing together a multidisciplinary group of academics to create original textbooks, enhance the programme's quality, research cooperation, and student experience.

FIBRE is a collaborative project involving senior and junior academics from seven Una Europa universities, aiming to develop high-quality didactic materials for the Una Europa Joint Bachelor in European Studies (BAES) programme.

The project will focus on creating two original textbooks for the courses "European Integration" and "Introduction to EU and International Law."

These textbooks, to be published internationally, will enhance the quality of the BAES program and foster research cooperation within Una Europa.

The Chair holder, Prof. Jan Wouters from KU Leuven, will work closely with Una Europa colleagues, in particular with the project coordinator Prof. Federico Casolari (Univerisity of Bologna). The Chai holder will also spend three periods of three weeks at the University of Bologna to co-teach the courses and develop the textbooks.

Workshops in January/February and June/July 2023 will initiate and advance the development process, with students piloting the textbook chapters in the academic year 2023-24. Following careful review, the textbooks are set to be published in 2024-25.
