I'm Rosana Martín Torrente, and I'm part of the International Relations Office at the Complutense University of Madrid. My role involves overseeing student mobility through bilateral agreements.
The Staff Week in Bologna was an enriching experience for me. What stood out the most was the opportunity to connect with colleagues from other universities who share similar work, strategies, and concerns. It was reassuring to know that we are all on the same page.
The emphasis on "face to face" sharing of content was a highlight for me. Recognizing that all voices are important and working towards a common ground of cooperation, understanding, and active listening was a key takeaway. This extends not only within the UNA Europa universities but also in collaboration with other alliances. It's crucial that we walk together, not just at the European level, to make a positive impact in our globalized world.
While the presentation sessions from other alliances were enlightening, I believe there should be greater interrelation among them. I bring back numerous inspiring lessons, and despite considering myself open and aware, there's always room to learn. Three concepts that particularly caught my attention—Belonging, Intercomprehension, and First Generation—are areas I'm eager to further develop in my daily work.
I am hopeful that diversity becomes a cross-cutting issue at my university through collaborative efforts with the Una Europa Diversity Council.
