To me, Una Europa is the desire of being part of a bigger international network, but first and foremost the necessity to work as a whole and grow together, enhancing our diversities as resources, in order to improve the lives of the students of the future.

I’m a 24 years-old guy from Sicily and a third-year Anthropology student. Ever since I was a child I have always been interested in cultures, travelling and human behavior; thus, right after graduating Scientific School in 2017, I decided to move to Australia, where I lived for almost a year and, with my backpack on, I met people from all around the world.

Back in Italy in 2018, I enrolled in the course “Antropologia, Religioni e Culture Orientali” at UniBo through which I have built a theorical support to my passion and curiosity towards cultures and opened my mind on how intrigued, yet interesting society can be! Moreover, in the last few years I have matured the idea of the necessity to be more socially committed as a young student.

From the spring of 2022 I am a Department Representative in the Student Council at Unibo and since October 2022 a member of the Local Task Force of Una Europa in the People & Talents subdivision.

Samanta Brahaj

Samanta Brahaj

I’m 19 years old and a first-year student of Political, Social and International Sciences at the University of Bologna. I am an Italian-Albanian girl (born and raised in Brescia, to Albanian parents) and have, therefore, always grown up between two cultures. It is definitely no coincidence that my first and main passions have always been foreign languages and cultures. I indeed attended (and recently graduated from) a linguistic high school where I learned 3 foreign languages and literatures (English, German and Spanish). In high school I also had the opportunity to discover my other main interests: more specifically, for years I practiced debate and was also a coach for my school's team, wrote several times for my school's newspaper and participated in several projects (theater, hosting foreign students from abroad, etc.). In addition, since last summer I have tried to be an even more active citizen: I have volunteered locally for my city, Brescia, supporting projects promoting its history and culture, but also internationally. Through the association Lunaria, I went to Denmark and collaborated with an international team for a festival in the city of Præstø to promote culture and music. Over the past few years I have become more and more interested in politics: which is why I have been a poll worker for my town of residence for the past year and why I chose to study political science. I believe that politics and international cooperation are an art that can allow us to evolve and improve all together, and that is why I want to spend more and more time collaborating, sharing ideas and reaching out to as many people as possible!

To me, Una Europa is the chance to improve and make progress with and for everyone. It is the concrete opportunity to create a dynamic, innovative, stimulating and enriching community in which all universities involved can participate and benefit from.

Humberto Dapelo

Humberto Dapelo

My name is Humberto Dapelo, and I’m originally from Ecuador. I’m currently pursuing a master's degree in Health Economics because I feel committed to make a positive impact on global healthcare systems. In recent years, I’ve focused on studying languages and international relations. My enthusiasm for international experiences has led me to work in both the United States and Romania. These experiences have fuelled my motivation to continue exploring the world, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. I am deeply passionate about chess and basketball. I believe both sports can have a significant and positive effect on your mentality, given that you get to learn about strategy, patience and having initiative when it is needed.

I aspire to actively participate in Una Europa, contributing to initiatives that bridge gaps between countries and students. Looking ahead, I envision a future where humanity is more interconnected than ever. Indeed, one of my main goals in life is to help create a world where understanding and cooperation thrive and are in everyone’s interest.

To me, Una Europa represents a great chance for students and professionals to get closer to each other, share information and ideas without having to worry about borders or nationalities that have hindered education and globalization before.

Sara Hasanli

Sara Hasanli

I'm Sara Hasanli from Azerbaijan. I earned my bachelor's degree in law at Baku State University and worked as a lawyer in the banking sector in Azerbaijan for 3 years. Currently, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone by pursuing a master's degree in law and economics at the University of Bologna. Moreover, my time as an internal trainer at the bank increased awareness of my enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and creating a collaborative learning environment. Back in university, I dedicated my time to the Baku State University Moot Court Society, sharpening my legal skills through moot court activities. Beyond the legal side of my carreer, I am deeply passionate about animal welfare. I've volunteered in animal rescue efforts in Azerbaijan. Also, I enjoy exploring topics like psychology, mindfulness, and meditation. Additionally, my fascination with languages and cultures led me to become fluent in Russian, English, and Turkish, with ongoing efforts to enhance my Italian proficiency and a foundational understanding of French.

To me UnaEuropa it's a bridge to the future of education. It's about fostering improvement in the system, embracing innovation, and building a community of forward-thinking individuals. It's a vision I'm excited to be a part of."

I am Sara, a bachelor student of Economics and Finance eager to make new experiences, grow and learn from others. I am passionate about my field of studies and I love travelling!

To me Una Europa means connection and cooperation among students. For me it’s an opportunity to grow and gain experience while creating a positive environment for others and for myself to grow.

Marta Massera

Marta Massera

I am a keen first-year student of the Master in Social and Public Communication at the University of Bologna. During the last three years I lived in France in Lyon. At first, I took part in an Erasmus+ experience at the Jean Moulin Université Lyon 3, and then I decided to do a Master's degree in Political and Juridical Philosophy at the same university. These experiences allowed to me to develop a critical look to the socio-political reality. During my philosophical studies I deepened issues such as Philosophy of language, Gender studies and Feminism, that helped me to understand the plastic power of language on the real. This is why I decided to undertake a Master’s degree in communication. It’s time for me to try to apply my knowledge and to do my part for the community.

For me, Una Europa is the opportunity to be part of a community that recognises the importance of students in achieving future change.

Alessia Migliaccio

Alessia Migliaccio

I am Alessia and I was born in Naples. Currently, I am in the second year of the Master's program in Management Engineering at the University of Bologna. Throughout my academic journey, I've had significant experiences that fuelled my passions and revealed my inclination to take on challenges with initiative. Among these experiences, I participated in a year-long cultural exchange in Thailand. This period provided me with the opportunity to live with a host family and attend a local school. Additionally, I actively contributed to the management and organization of a school during an international volunteer programme in Kenya, providing psychological and human assistance in a slum. I also engaged in a training programme, cooperative activities, and leadership projects in Azerbaijan. Facing life's challenges has taught me to creatively solve problems. I believe that passion and dedication, combined with empathy, create an engaging environment. I find energy in teamwork and believe that productivity and fun can coexist.

For me, Una Europa is an opportunity to build an international network and embrace diversity to enhance students' lives. It represents the hope to see the University of Bologna thrive globally and provides a platform to share ideas with European peers, promoting integration and interuniversity collaboration.

Angelica Porcheddu

Angelica Porcheddu

Hey there! I'm currently in my second year of Economics and Finance at the University of Bologna, where I'm untangling economic puzzles and crafting policies for both the public and private sectors, all while embracing an international twist. Before this adventure, I dived into Corporate Information Systems, exploring business, law, languages, and tech. During that time, I engaged into cool projects like the "Teen voice project - Young journalists – ConCittadini," empowering youth with citizenship knowledge. Oh, and I was a Radio Speaker at "RadioImmaginaria," joining conversations all across Europe. Workwise, I've been on a whirlwind—teaming up with the Honorary Consulate of Bulgaria, managing websites, social media, and perfecting my translation skills during my Erasmus experience in Malta, juggling invoices, inventory, and EU funds at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics.  And if that sounded boring, a fun fact: I’m a mix of Italian and Bulgarian roots, born in Bologna! To add a sprinkle more, I can even converse in German, apart from English of course. I love soaking up different cultures, engaging with people from all walks of life, and using my love for communication to bridge gaps. I’m super excited to keep exploring and connecting in this big, wide world!

To me, Una Europa symbolizes a vibrant community fostering innovation and collaboration, that presents an incredible opportunity to contribute to a larger international network, leveraging our collective strengths in a unified effort to redefine education for future generations, to create a more connected, enriching university experience.

To me, Una Europa is the best opportunity to start planning for the future of education and to build the environment of the next generations; because university is the fundamental step for a better and more qualified life.

I am a first-year Law student in Bologna University. I am originally Turkish, and I came to Italy this year after graduating from an Italian High School in İstanbul.

In the past, I have managed many school and social projects. I was the president of Social Projects Club the last year of high school.  I worked with Boğaziçi University and their Education Center for Blind People (GETEM). I did internships in that area and also in a law office.

I can speak Turkish, English, Italian and a little bit of French. I also am a rower, I raced as a professional rower for 3 years in Turkey where I won several medals.

I am eager to learn and have new experiences. I cannot describe with words how really happy and excited I am to be part of the Una Europa Team and I hope to give something from myself to this very promising and important project.

Raul Tiani

Raul Tiani

Co-President

I am Raul, a second-year student in the master’s programme in International Politics and Economics at the University of Bologna. I am a representative of the Student Council in the evaluation board/co-president of the Una Europa Local Task Force. I like politics because it is the tool through which we influence social change to make a difference. Beside politics, I like sports, especially football, and meeting new people to discover their stories. I developed a passion for northern European countries this year after my Erasmus experience, which ended a few months ago, at the University of Helsinki.

To me, Una Europa represents a unique opportunity both academically and personally. Living the university experience at the different institutions that make up this alliance allows to enrich academic backgrounds while immersing students in new cultures, languages, and study methodologies.

Sara Visentini

Sara Visentini

I’m Sara Visentini, a 22 year old student, born and raised in a very small town called Finale Emilia, near Modena. I’ve just graduated in Sociology and Economic Law from the University of Bologna (Forlì Campus) and now, I attended the first year of the master’s degree in Global and Local Development from the University of Bologna, “Local Development and Welfare Policies” curriculum. In 2022, I did an internship at the Horizon 2020 project called “Welcoming Spaces”. This experience was fundamental, as it allowed me to enjoy the teamwork and to get closer to the world of European planning.

To me, being part of Una Europa team means having the opportunity to both grow professionally and personally, expanding my horizons and values, in a sharing context.

Director of the M&C Department

To me, Una Europa is an opportunity as European citizens to increment the integration efforts, a hope as a student to see the University of Bologna grow on the international level, and a way as a young person to share ideas and projects with my European peers.

I am a student of the “Diplomatic and International Sciences master degree” course of the University of Bologna, Forlì Campus. I attended the course “International Relations for Marketing” at the technical Institute “Paolini”, where I have been both class representative for five years and coordinator for extracurricular activities.

Wanting to learn how working life really is, I have taken part in several work experiences, both in catering, as a waitress, and in private companies, as an administratively skilled worker.

Furthermore, I have helped out in the editorial office of a local newspaper for a short period. I have done some charity work in an after-school group for two years and in an association for disabled people.

I have lived for a while in Northern Ireland, and I am now part of the Una Europa Bologna Task Force, where I hold the role of director of the Marketing & Communication subdivision.
