After an initial speed-dating session — a quick compatibility-based ice-breaker to team up for the quiz game — participants split into six teams to compete in an active and highly engaged manner. In some questions, the teams showed little hesitation, such as when asked about the most famous writer to have graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 1902 — James Joyce. However, when asked which languages are officially spoken at the University of Helsinki — Finnish and Swedish — only half of the players answered correctly. The question about which university considers using red pencils during exams to bring good luck — the Complutense University of Madrid — caught everyone off guard: no team guessed the correct answer. All teams, on the other hand, unanimously answered the question about the traditional custom for graduates of the University of Bologna: being crowned with a laurel wreath, a symbol of wisdom. The quiz game was also a chance for students to get to know each other and meet new friends. The evening concluded with the prize awarding for the winning team and numerous group photos.
