Agnieszka Czopik

Who am I and what is my role at the university?

My name is Agnieszka Czopik and I work at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. I am responsible for financial aid for students of the Jagiellonian University. I am a member of the Scholarship Appeals Committee for Jagiellonian University students, which considers students' appeals against benefits not granted by the First Instance Committee. In addition, I am administratively responsible for the allocation of places in student dormitories and the Doctoral House.

What motivated me to participate in the Live My Life programme?

I am interested in meeting people with similar responsibilities at their Universities. We could exchange common experiences, probobly improve the functioning of our departments and improve service to students and doctoral students in our areas of expertise. This is a very valuable training for both sides. In addition, the prospect of visiting a partner University, meeting new people, is extremely exciting and provides a wide range of opportunities.

What was the most captivating or interesting moment of the week?

Getting acquainted with the rules of the partner’s University and exchanging common experiences. During my stay in Universidad Complutense De Madrid I met with the Vice-Rector for International Relations, which was a great honor for me.

What I learnt or found interesting aboutmy Una Europa partner:
Universidad Complutense De Madrid is a great University with many traditions. During my stay I learned that there are differences in functioning of our Universities, such as a different system of admission to studies or the organization of accommodation in dormitories;

What lessons or experiences have I taken home with me:

We are one big academic community, no matter what country or university we live in and we struggle with similar issues;

Would I recommend others to participate in Live My Life?

Definitely! Participation in the program has been one of the most interesting experiences during my time at the University.
The prospect of visiting a partner university, meeting new people provides a wide range of opportunities, such as:
improving professional and language competencies and adapting to different cultures and working systems.
