About the Staff Week
The University of Bologna and the Una Europa Diversity Council are pleased to announce the third Una Europa staff week, dedicated to the theme of "Diversity and Inclusion" and taking place in Bologna from 16 to 20 October. This in-person training programme aims to raise awareness and promote the work and vision of the Diversity Council. Professionals working in human resources, student services, and services on diversity, equity and inclusion are invited to participate. The online call for participants will be open from 5 to 30 June 2023.
Goals of the Staff Week
- Mentoring staff and raising awareness on topics and work of the Diversity Council.
- Sharing best practices and addressing challenges in daily work.
- Learning theoretical structures on diversity and inclusion.
- Discussing diversity management methodologies.
- Enhancing an intersectional approach for effective diversity management.
Eligibility
- Professionals in human resources, in particular services for inclusion of diversity and employment protection.
- Professionals in student services, in particular services for special needs, the right to study and the management of specific targets (for example: minorities, international students, diverse abilities, LGBTQI+ groups).
- Professionals in any other administrative area dealing with and providing services on diversity, equity and inclusion
Working Language: English
English Level Requirement: B2 or higher (according to CEFR)
Format
- Day 1: Introduction to Una Europa and Una.Futura, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
- Day 2: Working groups on human resources management and student services.
- Day 3: Working groups on gender, interculturality, diverse abilities and wellbeing, socio-economic circumstances.
- Day 4: Open conference featuring presentations from other European Alliances.
- Final Day: Wrap-up session with take-home messages from keynote speakers.
Application Process
- The online application will be open from 5 to 30 June 2023.
- Applicants must fill in the Application Form at this page.
- Selection will then take place locally at each university by 31 July.
- Each university will select up to five participants (the total number should not be less than 22).
- Accepted participants will receive confirmation in August 2023, along with practical information on the programme and logistics.
Financial Information
- The Staff Training Programme is free of charge.
- Travel and subsistence costs – accommodation, local transports and dinners of participants can be reimbursed using the institutional Una.Futura budget or other sources of funding, such as Erasmus+ STT funds.
