Species Scale Cosmology

The species scale is as a field-dependent UV cut-off for any gravitational effective field theory. It marks the energy at which gravity becomes strongly coupled and it encodes the effects of towers of light states in the EFT. In this talk, we discuss the significance of this scale for cosmology. A major focus will be on cosmic inflation and its observational signatures in the cosmic microwave background.
