Regular black holes from higher-derivative effective delta sources

Higher-derivative and non-local gravity models attract considerable attention nowadays due to their numerous applications in quantum gravity. Nevertheless, the study of their classical solutions is still in early stages because of the complexity of the equations of motion. In the first part of this talk we review general results on the linearized version of these models. The second part offers promising steps towards the non-linear regime by discussing some modifications of the Schwarzschild metric based on higher-derivative effective delta sources. We show that regular black hole solutions can be obtained for certain effective field equations and, as a concrete example, we analyse the case of Lee-Wick black holes.
