Stochastic Dark Matter production

The possibility that DM interacts with the SM only through gravitational interactions is both compelling and concerning. In this talk I will discuss how gravitational interactions can provide production mechanisms for DM. These mechanisms are inevitable and are at work for extremely secluded dark sectors, such as approximate dark CFTs. In particular, I will present a new scenario that exploits stochastic inflationary fluctuations. I will show how it can reproduce the right DM abundance in a very similar fashion to Bogoliubov particle production, thus linking the physics of DM to that of inflation.
