Report 6: Certifications

BOLOGNA BUSINESS SCHOOL | CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE

The report analyzes the adoption of sustainability certifications in Italy, revealing that only 8% of companies have obtained one. The most widespread certifications are ISO 14001 (32%) and OHSAS 18001 (24%), while more specific ones such as LEED and IFS remain marginal.

The sectors most actively engaged include paper, glass, construction, and agri-food.
The report recommends the implementation of tax incentives, the introduction of specialized roles to manage certifications, and effective communication strategies to enhance their value across the supply chain and with consumers.
