Orto Botanico ed Erbario – Bologna

The Observatory on Business Sustainability is developed within the Department of Management (DISA) of the University of Bologna and is composed by two areas: the Sustainability Measurement and Management Laboratory (SuMM Lab) and the Observatory on Circular Economy. 

It aims to promote a new awareness of companies and their leaders with respect to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing all types of companies, private and public, profit and non-profit, including small and medium-sized enterprises, contributes towards environmental protection, social well-being and economic prosperity.

The Observatory aims to monitor, systematically and with a multidisciplinary perspective, the changes taking place at an international, national and regional level that transform economic and social models, within the framework of business sustainability and the consequent challenges in terms of economic governance, operational processes and business measurement and communication systems.

The Observatory intends to act as a bridge between the different stakeholders of sustainable development (governments, local authorities, companies, associations, foundations, citizens, etc.), further opening up the departmental scientific groups and communities to society and the territories, favoring the communication of research results and the active involvement of stakeholders in business sciences.
