For UNIBO members

Members of the University can bring to the Statistics Clinic issues related to data analysis, experimental design, or the interpretation of results obtained in their studies. Everyone is encouraged to use the service, regardless of the disciplinary field or the stage of their research.

We offer

  • Consulting: We help researchers clearly define and refine their research questions, with a focus on the relevant statistical aspects.
  • Data Analysis: We suggest the most suitable statistical tools to extract relevant information from the data.
  • Training Support: We recommend books, articles, and software that can assist with data analysis.
  • Research: We present contemporary statistical methods to better understand data, make more accurate predictions, and test hypotheses more reliably.
  • Collaboration: We help establish connections with researchers - both within Bologna and internationally - who have expertise in specific areas.
  • Project Writing/Development: We support the writing and implementation of research projects, making our expertise available at every stage.

How to Request a Consultation from the Statistics Clinic

To request an appointment, please send an email tostat.clinic@unibo.it.
To ensure that your request is handled by the Statistics Clinic member with the most relevant expertise, we recommend that you:

  • clearly describe the background/context of your research,
  • specify the research question(s),
  • explain the objective of the study and the issue for which you are seeking statistical support,
  • if relevant, provide information about the available data, including a description of the variables and their nature.

What We Expect in Return

While we hope that in some cases our discussions may develop into full scientific collaborations, in most situations a simple acknowledgment in your article for the support received will be sufficient. However, if the collaboration becomes more substantial or long-term, involving joint work on methods, analyses, or interpretation, we expect co-authorship on resulting publications.
