University of Bologna research unit is composed by two Associate Professors (Prof. Eugenia Rossi di Schio and Prof. Paolo Valdiserri) and a Research fellow. University of Bologna is the coordinator of the research project. Moreover, the UNIBO research unit is responsible for thermal characterization of samples prepared by University of Brescia. The characterization basically consists of the determination of samples thermal transmittances by means of a heat flow meter apparatus according to international standards. The unit will perform also dynamic analyses to assess panel performance and, at the end, in-situ measurements will be performed. UNIBO is also responsible for the dissemination aspect, which will extend throughout the duration of the project.
Prof. Eugenia Rossi di Schio - Born in Vicenza, Italy, on September 20, 1974, she graduated with a classical high school diploma in 1992 and a Master's Degree in Business Engineering from the University of Bologna in 1997. She completed her PhD in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Bologna in 2001. Her PhD research focused on the impact of viscous dissipation on convection in clear fluids, earning her the UIT prize for the best PhD thesis in thermal-fluid dynamics for the years 2001-2002.
Since 2001, she has been an Assistant Professor of Thermal Engineering and Industrial Energy Systems at the University of Bologna and became an Associate Professor in 2015. Currently, she teaches Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer, Energetics, and Employability at the University of Bologna.
From 2012 to 2015, she served on the University Senate, and from 2015 to 2021, she was the Rector’s delegate for Career and Employment. She was the Degree Programme Director for the master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Energy Engineering at the University of Bologna from 2016 to 2017. Since 2020, she has been a member of the scientific strategic committee of AlmaLaurea.
