The border is not only the line of demarcation between two states, but also the site where people's lives are put on hold at times, as in the case of asylum seekers transiting from the Balkan route, and where fundamental rights might be compromised. Through the Seminar, Dr. Bergesio considers the border between Italy and Slovenia to focus on migrants there.
