'Crisis' has become a buzzword to describe the challenges the EU faces when coping with substantial flows of persons heading for the European Union. The construction of the crisis helps adopting policies at border which might be questionable in normal times, neglecting not only the legitimate rights of migrants but also their claims and their agency, argues Prof. Grappi.
