Clean and safe recycled cellulose? Not a house of cards!
Recycled paper is a cheap, versatile, “green” and easy to obtain material. Nevertheless, during recycling process it accumulates consistent amount of hazardous contaminants.
These are the so-called mineral oil hydrocarbons (or MOHs) used as ink solvent in offset printing.
For this reason recycled paper is not considered a safe material for food-packaging, as MOH can migrate into foodstuff over time. If eaten, hydrocarbons can accumulate into human fat body tissue and may produce toxic/carcinogenic effects or endocrine interferences (especially phtalathes and aromatic hydrocarbons).
This is our challenge: creating cheap and sustainable recycled paper FREE from hazardous contaminants.
Thanks to the expertise of our research team, and the development of a patented technology able to decontaminate up to 99% of mineral oil contaminants, we think it's possible!
