Winter School

WINTER SCHOOL

Dates: 24th-28th February 2025

Location: Toyo University Hakusan Campus, Tokyo, Japan

Overview

The first edition of the 'Politics, society and the environment in the classroom' Winter School will gather faculty members from UNIBO and Toyo University in order to discuss climate change issues from different standpoints. Students will  be taught to think about climate change and socio-environmental justice as a wicked problem, a complex problem in which there is no agreement on the nature of the problem, nor the solutions to it, which includes many stakeholders with different positionalities and power dynamics, and in which any attempt at solving it brings multiple unexpected consequences ).

The lectures are delivered by an interdisciplinary and international team, whose expertise ranges from international relations to communication to cultural geography.
