Activities for Companies

The Oper.Lab Observatory works on developing specific models of Open Innovation for companies that are undertaking a transformation process by working at a strategic level and enabling the company to develop innovative solutions.

Why should a company become a partner of the Observatory?

  • To learn and stay updated on new trends and practices in Open Innovation
  • To participate in funded research projects
  • To have an external perspective, see how other companies and managers are tackling similar problems to their own, discover what Open Innovation best practices exist in the world
  • To be part of a network of innovators in the Emilia-Romagna region, share problems and solutions with other members of the network through the activities of the Observatory

Many companies are putting Open Innovation at the center of their strategic choices to accelerate the development of innovative solutions, relying on external resources such as universities, research centers, or startups to involve the best expertise in a specific sector.

Oper.Lab helps companies break cognitive barriers to collaboration. The Observatory is committed to helping companies collaborate better with each other and with universities, research centers, startups, and researchers. Additionally, the Observatory aims to create a connection between research and industry in the territory.

Oper.Lab operates in various sectors such as Food, Automotive, Services, Healthcare, Social Innovation, PA, Arts and Humanities, and serves large companies, SMEs, cooperatives, institutions, universities, industry associations, and innovation intermediaries.

Companies that decide to join Oper.Lab are recognized as "founders" of the Oper.Lab Observatory for their immense value and contribution.

Activities for partner companies

During the year, the Oper.Lab Observatory carries out various activities with and for its affiliated companies:

  • Experimental workshops with companies: moments of experimentation in which Open Innovation managers and R&D directors of companies test methods and techniques to bring to their own company and discuss with peers and researchers about the practices that facilitate their application in real contexts.
  • Annual report "Assessment of demand and supply of open innovation in Emilia-Romagna" previewed for affiliated companies: in-depth analysis of the demand and supply of Open Innovation services in the territory, case studies, and open research projects in collaboration with Art-ER.
