Main research activities/topics/projects

Development of sustainability assessments in the mining sector (ornamental stones, minerals).

The candidate will work on one or more of the following aspects:

• Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of specific production chains, from the extraction of raw materials to the production of products, their use and end-of-life scenarios. Eventual development of environmental certifications (such as EPD);
• Application of Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) methodology in the mining sector; 
• Circularity indicators and possible measures to enhance the circularity and the efficiency of production chains in the mining sector;
• Integration of different sustainability assessment tools applied to the mining sector.

The candidate is also invited to suggest any additional topics or activities related to sustainability assessment in the mining sector.
