Stabilisation of soils with sustainable binders, Politecnico of Turin

  • What it is

Mobility experience with a research focus

  • Who it’s for

    PhD sandwich; Post Doc

Department

Structural, Geotechnical and Building Engineering, Politecnico of Turin

Main research activities/topics/projects

The research focuses on studying innovative soil stabilisation techniques to reduce environmental impact and increase sustainability within the framework of the circular economy. It involves experimental activities to characterize the chemo-hydro-mechanical properties of various geomaterials (including clayey soils, dredged sediments, and soft soils) before and after stabilization with different binders. The research includes a series of tests to characterize the chemical, mineralogical, microstructural, geotechnical, geophysical, and mechanical properties of soils and mixtures to select sustainable and potentially effective binders.
