Main research activities/topics/projects

The research concerns the study of novel soft materials for nanotechnology applications. It focuses on the relationship between molecular order, mainly studied by X-ray diffraction and scattering techniques, and macroscopic physical properties. Experimental data are complemented by molecular dynamics simulations.

Examples of research activities:

  • X-ray diffraction (XRD) and small-angle scattering (SAXS) measurements on materials such as liquid crystals, polymers, graphene nanocomposites, lipid nanoparticles, bio-materials;
  • optical and electro-optical measurements;
  • data analysis;
  • molecular dynamics simulation of soft materials.
